I recently Fell in Love - With The Alpha School….
Why? Because the founder of The Alpha School, Joe Liemandt, has implemented a bold and revolutionary approach to our broken educational and learning systems. Something that is long overdue.

At the Alpha School, students spend 2 hours a day on AI learning. Then they are required to prove proficiency...no A,B,C grades here. The remainder of their day, they focus on learning LIFE skills.
Note…LIFE skills, not soft skills...because there is nothing soft about them! Warning: you may never, ever want to engage me in a discussion about the decades-old term ‘soft skills’.
LIFE skills include classes on non-technical, human subject areas. Things like leadership, emotional intelligence, teamwork and communication. I’m sure you can name a few more of your own favorites.
You may want to put aside the concept that this school began because AI is a hot topic.
Because whether or not children of the future work directly with or only with AI, LIFE skills will impact them in some way.
Because along with all our great technology, we still have human beings, to work with, to interact with and to care about.
Human beings will be around for a long time. And so, the need and value of such Life skills is life itself.
If you want to learn more about it, spend some time listening to Shane Parrish’s terrific interview with Joe Liemandt, the founder of The Alpha School.
